Welcome to the Multidisciplinary Financial & Administrative Unit
The Multidisciplinary Financial and Administrative Unit (MDU) provides service in the areas of financial, business, and student affairs. We support the teaching and research of the Department of Ethnic Studies, Department of Gender & Sexuality Studies, Department of Media and Cultural Studies, Department of Religious Studies, all Interdisciplinary Programs, California Center for Native Nations (CCNN), Center for Art & Thought, Center for Bibliographical Studies and Research (CBSR), Center for Latino and Latin American Research, and The Young Oak Kim Center for Korean American Studies (YOK). Academic personnel include ladder rank faculty, lecturers, Visiting Professors, Researchers, Associate-Ins, Readers, and Teaching Assistants. The departments offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. While providing exceptional customer service to faculty, students, and the UCR community, we strive to maintain a high level of professionalism, expertise, and ethics, while adhering to University policies and procedures.

Diana MarroquinFinancial Admin Officer - Gender and Sexuality Studies/Media and Cultural Studies Diana provides support in the areas of financial activity, contracts and grants, space, and other administrative matters. Serves as an advisor to the FAO regarding all funding sources and is responsible for monthly budget reconciliation. Makes recommendations and assists in facilitating strategic short- and long-range planning of financial resources. Prepares complex budget reports and analyses and takes a lead role in the year-end fiscal close process. Assists with the allocation and management of all financial commitments and ensures compliance with internal audit requirements and University policies. Diana was hired at UCR in 1999 as a limited employee with the Registrar's Office and the Sociology department. In 2001 she was hired as a career employee with the Department of Religious Studies. Diana has over 20 years of experience in the fields of undergraduate advising, graduate advising, event planning, purchasing, travel coordination, payroll, accounting, and the area of budget and finance. In 2012 she joined the staff in the Multidisciplinary Financial and Administrative Unit where she oversees all financial matters for the departments of Religious Studies and Media and Cultural Studies. |

Alica KoffordFinancial Analyst - Interdisciplinary Programs: Asian Studies, Global Studies, Labor Studies, Latin American Studies, Liberal Studies, Middle East & Islamic Studies, and Southeast Asian Studies Alica provides support in the areas of financial activity, contracts and grants, space, and other administrative matters. Irene DotsonEvent/Amin. Assistant - Media & Cultural Studies, Religious Studies, Asian Studies, Global Studies, Labor Studies, Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies, and CCNN back-up Plans and executes all events such as lectures, colloquia, conferences, luncheons, receptions, and meetings. Arranges room scheduling, set-up, media resources, catering, parking, and other event needs. Responsible for equipment inventory, space management, copier maintenance, and serve as key custodian and Safety Coordinator. Transact purchasing, travel vouchers, check requests, honorariums, reimbursements, deposits, and other payments. Audit transactions for required receipts, proper approval, appropriateness, funding source, and mathematical accuracy. Research discrepancies and handle returns. Assist in office coverage, answering phones, distributing mail, and maintaining bulletin boards. |

Dawn ViebachAcademic Personnel & Payroll Assistant Dawn administers the recruitment and hiring process for ladder and non-senate faculty. Ensure compliance with the Academic Personnel Manual and the Memorandum of Understanding contracts. Provides support to departments for a variety of personnel actions, including document preparation for assessments, excellence reviews, merit/promotion reviews, and instructional workload course equivalency requests. Coordinates payroll and leaves with Harvest and UCPath. Dawn collects, analyzes, and updates payroll data regularly, making adjustments as necessary. |

Gretchen PotterTribal Liason and Coordinator for the California Center for the Native Nations (CCNN) Gretchen Potter is the Tribal Liaison and the Coordinator for the California Center for Native Nations (CCNN). She oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center, which serves as an interdisciplinary research center. She builds relationships with tribal nations and serves as a liaison between the CCNN and representatives of tribal nations nearby, throughout California, and beyond. She also liaises with the campus Native American Student Programs and academic units to engage with and respond to the needs and interests of the Native undergraduate and graduate student communities (including those of American Indian, Pacific Islander, Native Alaskan, and other Indigenous descent). Gretchen represents and advocates on behalf of UCR Native American Studies, Indigenous communities, and CCNN-affiliated faculty. |
